MUSIC: BBC Radio 1 Presents… Mumford & Sons and Friends

On Monday 11th October, BBC Radio 1 will be hosting and broadcasting a live concert headlined by Mumford & Sons and also featuring Laura Marling, The Maccabees and Bombay Bicycle Club. 

It will begin streaming from 7pm and will be followed by a documentary on the emerging community of musicians which includes the above mentioned as well as Johnny Flynn, Alessi’s Ark and the like. The concert will also be video streamed live in its entirety.

Recognise that guy up in the top-left? He’s former solo artiste Jay Jay Pistolet and The Vaccines are his new musical incarnation. Over in a sunshine filled valley in California this weekend, several hundred bands & fans will be gathering for Coachella festival. Luuuccky. Them.

However some (minor) consolation for those who can’t make is that sets from The Strokes, Lauryn Hill, Tame Imapala, Warpaint, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys, Nas & Damien Marley, PJ Harvey and more will be streamed live at (although that does mean kind of middle-of-the-night).
